Does this tool crawl my website?

No. It builds the sitemap from the URLs you provide, so nothing is requested from your site. Export the list from your CMS or a crawler, or type the pages you want indexed.

Should I set priority and change frequency?

They are optional. Google ignores both values, and Bing gives them little weight. An accurate last modified date is the field search engines use.

How many URLs can one sitemap hold?

Up to 50,000 URLs and 50 MB uncompressed. Larger sites split their URLs over several sitemaps and list those in a sitemap index file.

URLs, one per line

0 characters

Blank lines and lines starting with # are ignored. With a base URL, paths such as /about are resolved against it. The tool does not crawl your site.

Change frequency and priority are optional; Google ignores both. Set a last modified date only if it is accurate.

sitemap.xml

Paste one URL per line, or load a text file, and get a sitemap that follows the sitemaps.org protocol. Paths are resolved against a base URL, bare domains get https, fragments are dropped, special characters are escaped and repeated URLs are listed once. Lines that are not web addresses are reported with their line number instead of being written. Last modified date, change frequency and priority are optional; priority can be set from the depth of each path. A file may hold up to 50,000 URLs and 50 MB. The tool does not crawl your site, and your list stays in the browser.
